About SEK Svensk Elstandard
SEK Svensk Elstandard is responsible for standardization in Sweden in the field of electrotechnology. The organization also co-ordinates Swedish participation in European and international standardization work as a member of the IEC and CENELEC.
SEK Svensk Elstandard is a non-profit organization operating with the voluntary participation of Swedish authorities, companies and organizations interested in participating in – and influencing – the work on technical regulations in the area of electrotechnology.
These entities provide technical experts who participate in one or many of our around 100 technical committees. Currently, our technical committees consists of more than 800 voluntary technical experts. Membership of any of SEK's technical committees enables participation and influence in the creation and revision of standards in their field. Standardization is an open process targeted at mutual understanding and open dissemination of the results obtained.
Standards in the field of electrotechnology cover areas such as terminology, documentation, classification and other general issues. Standards can also involve requirements for measurement, safety, performance or other properties. Finally, they may deal with the performance testing or use of various kinds of electrical products or systems.
SEK Svensk Elstandard provides information about standards and ongoing projects, where the results are available through SEK's own web shop on this site and our network of authorized dealers.
To support the application of standards, SEK also publishes handbooks, technical reports as well as hosts seminars and courses.
